The YONEX Astrox 77 is a racquet created in 2017, introducing a very large change to the existing brand racquets which is to have a flexible shaft without loss of power or control in your game in more powerful moves like smash.
It’s still not that popular with most top professional players, but you’re beginning to see some of them experimenting with it and being overwhelmed by their performance.
This racket is even better for players who do not have much force on the forearm and wrist because it does not put much tension in those parts of the arm, something that happens with other models more used as is the case of Z Strike or Duora 10 for example.
YONEX also makes it stand out among the doubles players arguing that with the technology used the Astrox 77 is very fast and able to be used in the short and fast movements that are necessary for doubles matches.
In terms of design, this racquet comes in 2 different versions where there is a variation of color but it remains the standard, the first one is yellow and black and the second blue and black.
It is not the most beautiful designs of YONEX but each one has its own taste and this is not going to be why it will not buy or test the Astrox 77.

All About YONEX Astrox 77 (Review)
By using this type of technology they can make the shaft thinner than conventional, thus increasing the speed of the swing and the impact force with the shuttle.
It’s all a question of weight loss and aerodynamic gain, and only the strongest players can feel this difference in their movements. You have to be able to pull as hard as you can with your arm.
Greater Flexibility, Greater Control
Using the counterweight balance theory where they focus on the weight of the top of the head and the base of the grip in order to balance the weight transfer in your swing.
YONEX tests have proven that although the shaft is more flexible there is no such loss of normal control in this type of shafts as this is a very big change in the badminton racket landscape.
2 Sided System (AeroBox Frame)
In Astrox 77 you can see that it has both types of frames in the same racket, and on one side (Box Frame) is done so that you can do better Drop Shots and play on the network while on the other side (Aero Frame) the goal is that have greater repulsion thus increasing the power of your smashes.
This concept was introduced a few years ago in DUORA racquets line.
In fact, most players do not notice the difference so much. This characteristic has made many amateurs and even some professionals criticize this technology even without having experienced it yet.
By having this form the spacing between the ropes is the same, which makes your beat is much more consistent even when it does not strike exactly in the center of the racket, thus greatly improving its control.
A badminton game is not just strength and smashes. If you do not have consistency in your game you will lose all points even without the opponent using a smash.
Now we’ll look at your performance across the various types of bids and see what your strengths and weaknesses are.
It has a very good performance in this movement, presenting a very high repulsion level when it has a good string and correct tension.
The sweet spot of this racquet is larger than normal, which will greatly assist in almost all kinds of moves you make while maintaining power even without striking completely in the center.
The aerodynamics of the Astrox 77 make it cut the air quite well and give it a quick but controlled movement.
It is not so much the contact with the shuttle that is unfortunate, but if you master this racket you will have no problem in controlling the level of force to apply to get a good trajectory.
This racquet is far from being focused on players with an offensive game style and powerful smashes, but still, it manages to deliver enough power and allows it to make a solid smash.
If you are accustomed to rackets with a stiff shaft you may feel some discomfort with the flexibility of this racquet and even some loss of power, but over time should be able to adapt quickly.
YONEX has put a lot of emphasis on the ability to defend this racket and quickness of the head and it is true that you can make short moves fairly fast.
This is an advantage that is more important in doubles players, being these the biggest users of this model so far.
YONEX Astrox 77
A very solid racket with a very high overall quality, being one of the best choices for players who like to use more flexible shafts without a doubt.
If you are a player with a more offensive style you can get a good performance with the Astrox 77 but other rackets can overcome their performance and transfer of power
Regarding the price, it is costing a little high for what we consider to be the real value of it and comparing with other alternatives in the market but if you buy it you will certainly not regret it because it is a great racket.
And so, did you know more about this racquet with our YONEX Astrox 77 review, since its characteristics, if it is good to attack, defend, price, etc …?
