Son Wan-Ho is one of the most well-known players internationally, present in the top 15 of the world since April 2014, being currently 2nd place and was up to No. 1 in 2017.
For many people, it may seem a bit strange how they have never heard of he or how it is not one of the players that comes to mind when it comes to top-players.
There are some reasons for that:
- He is an extremely skillful player, but he does not have great international achievements;
- He earns many points in the ranking because he participates in many international tournaments;
- It has a defensive style of game, not being so flashy and exuberant as some legends of the current badminton scene;
The biggest achievement of his career was a bronze medal in the 2017 World Cup wins against Lin Dan.
